New year, new ME?

I’m one of those people who love making resolutions and various lists. I love the beginning of a new year. New list, new resolutions, new options, and a new chance to fulfill them. It’s like you have this new journal and you open it on the first beautifully white page and it calls to you to take pen and write, to mark it with all your thoughts and ideas. That’s hard to resist, am I right?

And so just like the year before, I’m sitting behind my table and writing these resolutions which I want to accomplish. To be honest, we all know I won’t do it. Though I did try hard this year… or should I say the year before? Anyway, let’s get into it.

16 in 2016

This year, just like the previous one, was in some aspects eye-opening. I want to share 16 things this year taught me, things I want to keep an eye on so I don't make the same mistakes again. In some cases it was more positive year than the previous one, in some cases not but I can't be really mad at it, because it's only as good as I make it.

Somewhat healthy fall carrot cupcakes | Baking with Simona

You should probably know two things about me:
1. I love everything with cinnamon.
2. I adore baking. It's my favourite hobby.

This summer was quite rich and we ended up having house full of zucchinis. No one  knew what to do with them so I found healthier version of brownies and I used all of them for baking. This weekedn I was in a baking mood and I wanted to do a new recipe that would feel autumnal and warm and comforting. What's more comforting than the taste of cinnamon in a good cupcake? Especially in a cupcake without butter. Yeah, you heard me, without butter.

How to get over the autumn depression

I don’t like autumn. Let’s get that out of the way. Ok, scratch that. I like autumn when it’s sunny and all the trees in my hometown are colorful and the birds are singing… yeah that’s beautiful. Though autumn in the city where I go to university is basically none. No colorful trees, no beautiful sunsets, but it rains there a lot which is totally not good. Especially when you have to go to school in that weather. Since my semester has started a month ago and I feel like the melancholy is getting the best of me, I decided to name all those lovely things about autumn so I could feel less awful and I could actually enjoy this season.
