Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn't Get To (But TOTALLY plan to)

2016 was a good year for books. There were some awesome debute novels that I totally adored, there were some epic sequels but there wasn’t enough time for all of them which is so sad and frustrating. How should I know which one to choose first when all of them are screaming for attention? I wanted to read them all… I really tried but I failed! So this is my list of 10 books I wanted to read in 2016 sooo much but I never did… but I will.
Also, this is my first ever try at Top Ten Tuesday, so hopefully I'll stick to it.

1. FROST LIKE NIGHT | Goodreads
Guys, I need to read the whole series. I’ve read SLA ages ago, I don’t really remember what happened and this is the third book but I really want to read the whole series because it’s sooo good.

I’m a sucker for cute romance novels like this, okay. My heart needs all those feelings. And this just looks perfect. I’ve also heard it’s perfect so why haven’t I read it yet?!

3. THREE DARK CROWNS | Goodreads
Crowns mean royal, royal means princesses and I love princesses. And princes. Do you know what I like even more? Princesses with powers. This is in my card on Bookdepository for some time now and I’m still hesitant about it, but it just sounds so good.

4. HEARTLESS | Goodreads
Can I be honest with you? I think I can, we’re all friends here. I haven’t finished The Lunar Chronicles yet. I know, I know, stop with the gasping, I’m sure there are people out there just like me. I have read the first two books and I love it (and I don’t know why I didn’t finish it) so it’s only natural that I want to read another book Marissa Meyer. Also, it’s Alice in Wonderland retelling and I adore that story.

I’ve read the first book only recently and I loved it. I had this problem with Percy that I fell out of love with him. I know, I know, shocking but I wasn’t loving all the greek series anymore and this was like a fresh air for me and I realized that yes, Rick is a funny guy and an amazing author.
6. NEVERNIGHT | Goodreads
I don’t think I have to introduce this book because a lot of people have been raving about it and I still haven’t read it. It’s dark, it’s about assassins… I don’t need to hear anymore. And I just finished Iluminae which was co-written by Jay Kristoff and it was epic, so I hope this one will be too.

Ok, I’ve heard this rumor that the third part is coming out in 2018?! Tell me it’s not true! Tell me it was a lie! How is it possible? That’s mostly the reason why I still haven’t read this one yet, because I don’t want to wait for the third one for so long.

8. SCYTHE | Goodreads
A story about learning how to be a scythe. Where can I send my application? I want to be an apprentice! Though I think it’d be hard faith to take someone’s life. Oh well, I shall stay mortal human then.

9. THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR | Goodreads
One word… okay two words: Nicola Yoon. That’s all I need to hear.

10. IT ENDS WITH US | Goodreads
Again, it’s Colleen Hoover, I need every book by Colleen. I love her style, her stories… how is she doing it? I bet it’s some kind of dark magic trapped in her books that makes me feel all the feels, and makes me cry and makes me want more of her stories.

Have you read any of these? If so, how did you like them? Or do you plan to read some of them?

  1. Okay, you HAVE to read Three Dark Crowns and Scythe. Absolutely MUST! I also enjoyed Our Chemical Hearts and Heartless. Nevernight was just okay for me---but there are some people who adored it (and some who hated it---it's that type of book). And Frost Like Night, Sun Is Also a Star, and It Ends with Us are all on my list too. :-)

    1. Three Dark Crowns are already in my card on Bookdepository, along with Caraval and Heartless. Seriously, can't wait for them! I want to read The Sun is Also a Star as soon as I finish Passenger so I'm excited what that will be like. :)

  2. Most of these are on my TBR list too. Although I did get to three dark crowns which I enjoyed, but didn't love like so many people seem to. Otherwise I'm loving your blog - its so pretty! Count me as a new follower :)

    1. OMG thank you! I'm so happy you like my blog. :)

  3. I've still only read the first Magnus Chase book so I definitely want to get on with the series! Heartless, unfortunately, was a bit of a disappointment. And I've heard mixed things about TSIAAS but I still want to read it haha.

    1. Oh, I really hope Heartless isn't going to be a dissapointment for me. It's weird to even think about that. It's Marissa Meyer! Yeah, I've heard mixed things about TSIAAS too but still want to read it anyway because I want to form my opinion. :D

  4. Ohhh my goodness, off you go to read Three Dark Crowns and Scythe IMMEDIATELY. SO. GOOD. Both of them- but especially Scythe. Because Neal Shusterman is a genius and everything. Also, I have not finished The Lunar Chronicles either, so you aren't alone. I also have only read the first two. And while I LIKE them, I do not LOOOOVE them, which is probably why I have not continued yet. But I will. Probably, since I own them all. #BookHoarderProblems. I also want to read TSIAAS, and Our Chemical Hearts, and Torch, and Nevernight. A lot. And I read Frost Like Night! SO okay- Book 2... it isn't good. BUT! Frost Like Night is worth it I think. Just a heads up. I hope you get to read all of these, and that you enjoy them, too!

    1. No, you shouldn't say this! I have so many books on TBR and now I'm thinking about how to get my hands on Scythe. :D
Oh I've read the first two books in lunar chronicles so long ago, that I don't even remember if I liked them or loved them. :O My brain is the worst. :D
Yeah, I've heard ILF is not as good as the SLA which terrifies me but I also heard that the third one was really good so I'm going to trust you on this one :D
